Collingswood Community Theater is excited to announce auditions for:

URINETOWN

We are looking for a diverse cast of high energy performers, 15 or older. Performers are encouraged to audition for any role of their choice. The production will have some roles which will play multiple tracks. Music and dialogue will be performed as written.

PERFORMANCE DATES:
February 6th - Evening Performance
February 7th - Matinee & ​ Evening Performances
February 13th  - Evening Performance
February 14th  - Matinee &  Evening Performances

TECH REHEARSALS:
Tech week will start on 2/1/26. A firm schedule will be given upon casting.
-Attendance is mandatory at all tech rehearsals and performances-

REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals will be held two weekday evenings  and on Saturday mornings. Weekday evenings TBD.
Please fill out all weekday conflicts on the audition form.

There is a registration fee of $75 per person or $150 per family.
Fee includes a cast t-shirt and two comp tickets .

Wednesday, October 8th from 6:00pm - 9:00pm at the
Scottish Rite Auditorium, 315 White Horse Pike, Collingswood, NJ


Please audition for one lead only. You will be considered for others.

Hard Copies of forms, sides and songs will be available at auditions.

Audition Call Times: 
6:00pm - Ensemble audition, Bobby and Ensemble dance audition
6:45pm - Bobby & Hope Audition
7:30pm - Caldwell & Pennywise Audition
8:00pm - Lockstock & Little Sally Audition

Bobby Strong
The dashing, rebellious everyman who works for Miss Pennywise at the poorest, filthiest town urinal. He becomes an unsuspecting protagonist and romantic hero when he starts a revolution and falls in love with Hope Cladwell.

Hope Cladwell
Cladwell's daughter, torn between her father and her new love for Bobby. She begins as an innocent, and unbelievably naive woman but becomes vengeful and determined (and yet still naive) after being exposed to her father's evil.

Caldwell B. Cladwell
The evil president and owner of the Urine Good Company. He is a miserly money-grubber who gleefully exploits the poor, but he also understands the challenges of living in a time of water scarcity.

Penelope Pennywise
The tough, jaded warden of the poorest, filthiest town urinal. She is Cladwell's one-time lover and mother to Hope who eventually softens her temper.

Officer Lockstock
The tongue-in-cheek narrator of our story, he is a corrupt policeman who secretly kills off the guilty offenders. Bold, brash, and larger than life in many ways.

Little Sally
A precocious and irreverent street urchin. She serves as a quasi-narrator who often questions Lockstock and the play's logic.

Supporting Roles
We won’t be auditioning for these roles, but there are more speaking parts available in the show and will be assigned after auditions:

  • Hot Blades Harry: One of the Poor, he is a psychopathic and can become a violent loose cannon.
  • Joseph "Old Man" Strong: Bobby's rebellious father. His refusal to pay the fee sends him to Urinetown, ultimately launching the revolution.
  • Josephine "Ma" Strong: Bobby's mother and Joseph's wife. A strong-willed woman with a bite, able to withstand the hard hand life has dealt her.
  • Little Becky Two-Shoes: One of the Poor. She is foul-mouthed, impulsive, and accusatory.
  • Mr. McQueen: Cladwell's sycophantic lackey. A servile assistant.
  • Officer Barrel: Lockstock's patrol partner. A brutish and aggressive policeman.
  • Senator Fipp: A greedy politician in Cladwell's pocket. A bumbling coward.
  • Soupy Sue: One of the Poor, she is excitable and easily panicked.
  • Tiny Tom: One of the Poor, he is a man-child.​
