Winner of three Tony Awards, Urinetown is a hilarious satire of the legal system, capitalism, bureaucracy, and musical theatre itself!
A years-long drought has created a water shortage that leads to a ban on private toilets. You can only use public amenities and must pay a fee to do so. Those caught peeing for free are taken to Urinetown, a mythical place, and never heard from again. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom! Will hope and love win the day against fear and greed? Probably not, but someone has to revolt or it wouldn’t be a very dramatic story.
The show runs about 2 hours and 30 minutes with one 15-minute intermission.
